I am Riya Sharma, and it is my honor to speak on a topic that is extremely relevant in today’s digital age—Internet Safety and Cyber Security. In our daily lives, we are increasingly connected online, whether for education, work, or social interaction. While the internet has brought countless opportunities, it also brings challenges and risks that we must be aware of.

First of all, I sincerely thank the organizers for providing us this platform, our esteemed guests for their presence, and all participants for joining this awareness session.

Friends, every click, every message, and every online interaction carries the potential for both opportunity and risk. Cyber threats like identity theft, phishing scams, online bullying, and malware attacks have become more common than ever. Even something as simple as sharing a password or personal information online carelessly can have serious consequences.

Let me share a story. Ankit Verma, a college student, received an email claiming he won a scholarship. Excited, he clicked the link and unknowingly shared his personal data. Soon, his accounts were compromised. This incident could have been avoided if Ankit had practiced caution and followed basic cyber safety rules.

The purpose of today’s discussion is to raise awareness and empower each one of us to protect ourselves online. Simple steps like using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, avoiding suspicious links, and educating younger users about safe browsing can make a huge difference. Cyber security is not just a responsibility of IT professionals; it is everyone’s responsibility.

Remember, the internet is like a double-edged sword—it can enlighten us and empower us, but it can also harm us if used carelessly. As Bill Gates once said, “Cybersecurity is much more than a matter of IT.” Our awareness, vigilance, and responsible use of technology are equally crucial.

In conclusion, let us pledge to use the internet wisely. Let us educate our friends, family, and community about safe online practices. Protecting ourselves online ensures a safe, secure, and productive digital world for everyone.

मित्रों, हर क्लिक, हर संदेश और हर ऑनलाइन बातचीत में अवसर और जोखिम दोनों होते हैं। साइबर खतरे जैसे पहचान की चोरी, फ़िशिंग स्कैम, ऑनलाइन धमकियाँ और मैलवेयर हमलों ने अधिक सामान्य रूप ले लिया है। सरल चीज़ जैसे पासवर्ड या व्यक्तिगत जानकारी को ऑनलाइन carelessly साझा करना गंभीर परिणाम ला सकता है।

एक उदाहरण साझा करना चाहूँगी। अंकित वर्मा, एक कॉलेज छात्र, ने एक ईमेल प्राप्त किया जिसमें दावा किया गया कि उसने स्कॉलरशिप जीती है। उत्साहित होकर उसने लिंक पर क्लिक किया और अनजाने में अपनी व्यक्तिगत जानकारी साझा कर दी। जल्द ही, उसके खाते हैक हो गए। यह घटना तब टाली जा सकती थी यदि अंकित ने सतर्कता और मूल साइबर सुरक्षा नियमों का पालन किया होता।

आज की चर्चा का उद्देश्य जागरूकता बढ़ाना और हमें ऑनलाइन सुरक्षित रहने के लिए सशक्त बनाना है। मजबूत पासवर्ड का उपयोग करना, टू-फैक्टर ऑथेंटिकेशन सक्षम करना, संदिग्ध लिंक से बचना और छोटे उपयोगकर्ताओं को सुरक्षित ब्राउज़िंग के बारे में शिक्षित करना बड़े अंतर ला सकता है। साइबर सुरक्षा केवल आईटी पेशेवरों की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है; यह हम सभी की जिम्मेदारी है।
