I am Riya Sharma, and it is my honor to speak to you today on the important topic of Social Reform. Our society has made tremendous progress over the years, but there are still areas where change is needed—whether it is in education, gender equality, social justice, or environmental responsibility. Today’s gathering reminds us that every citizen has a role to play in building a fair, inclusive, and just society.

Firstly, I sincerely thank the organizers for giving us this platform, our distinguished guests for gracing the event, and every participant who is committed to learning and sharing ideas about social reform.

Friends, social reform is not just about laws or policies; it is about transforming mindsets. Every small action can contribute to a larger change. Whether it is educating children in underserved areas, standing against discrimination, or encouraging sustainable practices, we each hold the power to shape our society.

Let me share a story. Ankit Verma, a young volunteer in our city, started a small initiative to teach underprivileged children after school. His efforts gradually inspired other students, teachers, and community members to join, resulting in hundreds of children gaining access to quality education. This story shows how individual responsibility and commitment can lead to significant social reform.

The purpose of today’s event is to remind us that reforms are not imposed from the top—they grow from the community. When we challenge outdated beliefs, support equality, and empower marginalized groups, we contribute to a society where justice, compassion, and opportunity prevail.

As Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This applies directly to social reform. When we act with integrity, fairness, and empathy in our daily lives, we inspire others and create a ripple effect that leads to lasting transformation.

मैं रिया शर्मा आज आपके सामने खड़े होकर सामाजिक सुधार के महत्वपूर्ण विषय पर अपने विचार साझा करने का सौभाग्य महसूस कर रही हूँ। हमारे समाज ने वर्षों में अद्भुत प्रगति की है, लेकिन अभी भी कुछ ऐसे क्षेत्र हैं जहाँ परिवर्तन की आवश्यकता है—चाहे वह शिक्षा, लैंगिक समानता, सामाजिक न्याय या पर्यावरणीय जिम्मेदारी हो। आज का यह कार्यक्रम हमें याद दिलाता है कि एक बेहतर, समावेशी और न्यायपूर्ण समाज बनाने में हर नागरिक की भूमिका होती है।

एक उदाहरण साझा करना चाहूँगी। अंकित वर्मा, हमारे शहर का एक युवा स्वयंसेवक, ने स्कूल के बाद पिछड़े बच्चों को पढ़ाने की छोटी पहल शुरू की। धीरे-धीरे उनके प्रयास ने अन्य छात्रों, शिक्षकों और समुदाय के सदस्यों को प्रेरित किया, जिससे सैकड़ों बच्चों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा मिल सकी। यह कहानी दिखाती है कि व्यक्तिगत जिम्मेदारी और प्रतिबद्धता बड़े सामाजिक सुधार का मार्ग तैयार कर सकती है।

आज के कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य हमें यह याद दिलाना है कि सुधार ऊपर से थोपे नहीं जाते—they समुदाय से उभरते हैं। जब हम पुराने विश्वासों को चुनौती देते हैं, समानता का समर्थन करते हैं और हाशिए पर रहने वाले समूहों को सशक्त बनाते हैं, हम एक ऐसे समाज में योगदान देते हैं जहाँ न्याय, करुणा और अवसर सभी के लिए मौजूद हों।

जैसा कि महात्मा गांधी ने कहा है, “आप उस बदलाव का हिस्सा बनें जो आप दुनिया में देखना चाहते हैं।” यह कथन सामाजिक सुधार के संदर्भ में बिल्कुल सही है। जब हम अपने दैनिक जीवन में ईमानदारी, निष्पक्षता और सहानुभूति के साथ कार्य करते हैं, हम दूसरों को प्रेरित करते हैं और एक सकारात्मक बदलाव की लहर पैदा करते हैं।

अंत में, आइए हम जिम्मेदारी को अपनाने, समानता के लिए काम करने और छोटे लेकिन लगातार कदम उठाने का संकल्प लें। सामाजिक सुधार प्रत्येक व्यक्ति से शुरू होता है। साथ मिलकर, हम एक ऐसा समाज बना सकते हैं जो हमारे सर्वोच्च मूल्यों को दर्शाता है और सभी के लिए सम्मान, गरिमा और अवसर सुनिश्चित करता है।
