🎤 World Environment Day / Earth Day Speech in English

Good morning/afternoon, respected teachers, dear friends, colleagues, and esteemed guests,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to this important and timely occasion—World Environment Day, also known as Earth Day. I am Pramod Sharma, and today I feel honored to share a few thoughts about the significance of protecting our planet and the responsibility each one of us has toward creating a sustainable future.

World Environment Day is celebrated to raise awareness about environmental protection and to encourage action for the well-being of our planet. It reminds us that the Earth is our shared home and that every small step we take toward conserving nature—whether it is planting trees, reducing waste, or using resources wisely—has a profound impact on the environment and future generations.

Today, as we gather here, let us reflect on the urgent need to protect forests, rivers, oceans, and wildlife. Environmental degradation, pollution, and climate change are real challenges, and they require collective effort. Individuals like Ms. Neha Verma, our environmental science teacher, who educates young minds about sustainability, and Mr. Rakesh Singh, a local activist promoting tree plantation drives, are inspiring examples of how one can make a difference. Their dedication teaches us that caring for our environment is not just a duty but also a responsibility that can shape the future.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all teachers, organizers, students, and guests present here today for participating in this celebration. Your involvement demonstrates your commitment to a cleaner, greener, and healthier planet.

On this occasion, let me share a motivational thought: “The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth. Every action we take today toward protecting nature ensures a better tomorrow for ourselves and the generations to come.”

As we celebrate World Environment Day today, let us pledge to adopt eco-friendly habits, reduce pollution, save water, and plant more trees. विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाने का उद्देश्य पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता बढ़ाना और हमारे ग्रह के कल्याण के लिए कार्रवाई को प्रोत्साहित करना है। यह हमें याद दिलाता है कि पृथ्वी हमारा साझा घर है और प्रकृति की सुरक्षा के लिए किए गए छोटे-छोटे कदम—चाहे वह वृक्षारोपण हो, अपशिष्ट कम करना हो, या संसाधनों का विवेकपूर्ण उपयोग हो—भविष्य की पीढ़ियों पर गहरा प्रभाव डालते हैं।

आज जब हम यहाँ एकत्रित हुए हैं, आइए हम जंगलों, नदियों, महासागरों और वन्यजीवन की सुरक्षा की तत्काल आवश्यकता पर विचार करें। पर्यावरणीय क्षरण, प्रदूषण और जलवायु परिवर्तन वास्तविक चुनौतियाँ हैं, और इनके लिए सामूहिक प्रयास की आवश्यकता है। ऐसी व्यक्तिगत महिलाएं और पुरुष जैसे सुश्री नेहा वर्मा, हमारी पर्यावरण विज्ञान शिक्षिका, जो युवाओं को स्थिरता के बारे में शिक्षा देती हैं, और श्री राकेश सिंह, एक स्थानीय कार्यकर्ता, जो वृक्षारोपण अभियानों को बढ़ावा देते हैं, यह दिखाते हैं कि कोई भी व्यक्ति बदलाव ला सकता है। उनका समर्पण हमें सिखाता है कि पर्यावरण की देखभाल केवल कर्तव्य नहीं बल्कि हमारी जिम्मेदारी है जो भविष्य को आकार देती है।

मैं आज यहाँ उपस्थित सभी शिक्षकों, आयोजकों, छात्रों और अतिथियों का हृदय से धन्यवाद करता हूँ, जिन्होंने इस उत्सव में भाग लिया। आपकी भागीदारी एक स्वच्छ, हरित और स्वस्थ ग्रह के प्रति आपकी प्रतिबद्धता दर्शाती है।

इस अवसर पर, मैं एक प्रेरक विचार साझा करना चाहूँगा: “पृथ्वी हमारी नहीं है; हम पृथ्वी के हैं। आज प्रकृति की सुरक्षा के लिए किए गए हर कदम से हम अपने और आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए बेहतर भविष्य सुनिश्चित करते हैं।”

जैसे हम आज विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाएँ, आइए हम प्रतिज्ञा लें कि हम पर्यावरण के अनुकूल आदतों को अपनाएँगे, प्रदूषण को कम करेंगे, पानी बचाएंगे और अधिक से अधिक वृक्षारोपण करेंगे। आइए हम जिम्मेदार नागरिक बनें जो अपने ग्रह की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता और संसाधनों की सुरक्षा करें। मिलकर किए गए छोटे प्रयास बड़े बदलाव ला सकते हैं और हमारे सामूहिक प्रयास सभी जीवों के लिए सतत भविष्य सुनिश्चित कर सकते हैं।
